The Atco brewery broke the news in a message on Instagram, thanking its loyal customers, employees, and retailers who helped shape its journey from a backyard barn in 2015 to a full-scale production facility and tasting room in 2020.

“We never could have imagined that this small business venture…would have evolved into this,” the Brotherton team said.

Their tasting room became more than just a place to grab a beer, hosting everything from baby showers and birthdays to pre-wedding celebrations and community festivals like Brotherton’s Birthday Oktoberfest and St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.

“Each event is a reminder of the incredible community we’ve built,” the owners said.

News of the closure hit longtime patrons hard, with many sharing their disappointment.

“Bummer, such an awesome place. Had plenty of pints here after hikes and kayaking. One of my favorite places in South Jersey,” one customer wrote.

“Really sad news. Love what you all have done for Atco and bringing the community together,” another added.

Brotherton's closure follows those of several other area breweries, including Ark Brew in Lumberton and Forgotten Boardwalk in Cherry Hill, which both closed in 2024.

The Brotherton team gave a special shoutout to their head brewer, Ryan, who has been crafting their signature beers for over eight years.

The brewery’s final day of operation will be March 30, and the tasting room will remain open under regular hours until then.

“Thank you for being a part of our family," the signoff concluded. "It was a hell of a run.”
